Meet the Team

Our mission at St. Albert Naturopathic Clinic is to inspire health and healing through individualized holistic care by providing attentive and professional naturopathic care in a friendly and competent environment.

  • Dr. Rebecca Tocher, BA, BPHE, ND

I graduated from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in 2001 as a Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine. Prior to this I attended Queen’s University in Kingston for my undergraduate degrees. During my 4 years studying naturopathic medicine I met my husband, fellow student, Dave Richmond. Although we both grew up in Ontario, after graduation we decided to move to Alberta where there was a greater need for naturopathic doctors. We became the 30th and 31st NDs in the province. There are now over 200. After gaining some valuable experience working in multidisciplinary clinics in Edmonton, we opened St. Albert Naturopathic Clinic in 2004.

What resonated most with me about naturopathic medicine was the philosophy. In Naturopathic Medicine we treat the whole person, not just the body part that is showing the symptoms. The goal is to always to identify and treat the root cause of a problem. I take the time with my patients to hear their whole story and develop a treatment plan that will lead to real, lasting results.

The focus of my practice is women’s health issues. I have been successful helping women with hormonal balancing, headaches, fatigue, fertility, thyroid issues, digestive issues, skin conditions, stress and sleep troubles. I enjoy working with children to resolve skin conditions, digestive problems and allergies. Over the last couple of years I have developed a passion for researching and helping women with PCOS (Polycystic ovarian syndrome). Naturopathic Medicine has so much to offer women suffering from this disorder.

We are very grateful to have discovered the wonderful city of St. Albert. We love the small town feel and big city amenities that St. Albert offers. We live within walking distance of our clinic in quaint downtown St. Albert. Over time our practice and family have grown. Our 3 children attend our local school and we enjoy being active outdoors and taking part in community events. Along with being a wife and mother to our wonderful children, my passions include running along St. Albert’s beautiful trail system, triathlon training, skiing, camping and reading.

  • Dr. Dave Richmond, BSc, ND

I approach life with enthusiasm and a passion for teaching others to heal themselves. I studied Biomedical Science and received my Bachelor of Science from the University of Guelph in Ontario. Faced with a variety of career options, Naturopathic Medicine’s philosophy and approach to caring and fostering healing stood out among the rest. I then completed the four year program at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in Toronto in order to achieve my goal. I have been involved with the political aspect of Naturopathic Medicine and have held the positions of secretary, registrar and treasurer for the Alberta Association of Naturopathic Practitioners. I am proud to live and work in the wonderful community of St. Albert and to offer Naturopathic care as part of a husband and wife team. My life is rounded out with three wonderful young children, Owen, Mya and Sophie.

  • Dr. David Vojtisek, BSc, ND

Born and raised in what is now part of the Czech Republic, I moved to Edmonton in early 1980. I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Alberta and then went on to earn my degree in Naturopathic Medicine at Toronto’s Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine. I have been practicing at the St.Albert Naturopathic Clinic since 2010. My wife, Dr. Kawai also joined the team in 2016. I will consider it a great privilege to assist you on your path to well-being. I have received further training in Intravenous Therapies, Oxidative(Ozone) Therapies, Therapeutic Injections and Intravenous Chelation Therapy.

I enjoy an eclectic practice, seeing patients of all ages and addressing all health concerns, and have taken a special interest in successfully treating digestive health, food sensitivities, skin conditions, mood disorders, hormone related concerns, sleep issues, stress/anxiety, integrative cancer care, fatigue, heavy metal toxicity and cardiovascular health. Recently, I have been researching and increasingly treating SIBO (small intestinal bacterial overgrowth) which presents with symptoms consistent with IBS such as gas, bloating, diarrhea, constipation, flatulence, heartburn, nausea abdominal pain and cramping.

It is my belief that we all need to be intimately involved in attaining and maintaining our own health and I strive to empower each and every one of my patients to be able to take an active role in doing so. I also believe in leading by example and I balance my busy practice schedule with being a proud father to our daughter Ayako and activities such as tennis, regular sauna detox, bird watching, yoga and spending time in Canada’s great outdoors!

  • Dr. Allison Ronda, BASc, ND

I am passionate about teaching my patients how to make better lifestyle choices, and recover confidence in themselves and their health! I feel that Naturopathic medicine is patient-centred, compassionate, and a long-lasting approach to health which facilitates self-awareness and empowerment. My focus is to look at the body as a wholistic system and find the root cause of each health concern.

As a Naturopathic doctor I can share my knowledge and understanding of health and healing with my patients, in aims to remedy whatever health concern they are experiencing.

I have a varied practice where I see all ages, genders, and health concerns. I have treated patients for, but not limited to: women’s health, PCOS, menopause, infertility, stress management, food sensitivities, heavy metal exposure, mould exposure, SIBO, eczema, acne, anxiety, chronic illness, Lyme disease, and environmental allergies.

My own previous health challenges allow me to be more empathetic to my patients and gives me an understanding of what they are experiencing and how to walk with them on their road to recovery.

I was born and raised in Alberta, have a degree in psychology and graduated from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine. I value continued education and research in the field of medicine. Therefore, I have further training in chelation, injection therapies, intravenous therapies, clinical genetics, applied kinesiology testing, environmental medicine and functional medicine. I am a licensed naturopathic doctor in Alberta and in good standing with the College of Naturopathic Doctors of Alberta, Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors, and the American College for Advancement in Medicine.

  • Dr. Cora Loeblein, BSKin, CHN, ND

I am an empathetic listener, your greatest advocate, and here to provide you with the tools and guidance to navigate through your personal health journey.

I earned my Bachelors of Kinesiology from McMaster University and went on to become a Certified Holistic Nutritionist from the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition.  Combining my love for science, my degree in movement, and my inner foodie, naturopathic medicine was the perfect fit! I completed my post-graduate studies at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine, where I obtained my Doctor of Naturopathy Degree.

It is through adversity, I have learned the value that integrative medicine can have on well-being.  I believe in a patient-centered approach to health care and I am committed to providing an inclusive practice.

When I am not nose-deep in a textbook or a good memoir, you can find me practicing yoga, trying new recipes, or exploring trails with my pup. I run a small shop, Beads for Brains, to raise awareness and funds for individuals and institutions supporting brain injury recovery, through the sales of bracelets (@beadsforbrains).

I am a registered member of the CNDA, AAND, and CAND.

I am thankful for the opportunity to work at St. Albert Naturopathic Clinic, as it lines up nicely with my belief in holistic healing, and the body’s natural ability to heal itself.
